The Inter Service Championships or “Inter Services” are held in the Autumn each year. It is always a fierce contest between both the Men and Ladies of each of the 3 Single Services. The format for the Championships is a round robin tournament with each of the 3 Services playing the other over both foursomes and singles matches. All play is over 18 holes scratch Matchplay. Each game is awarded 1 point for a win, 1/2 for a halved match and 0 for a loss. Overall match scores in the round robin league are similarly 1 point for a win, 122 for a halved match and 0 for a loss. The winner of the Championships will be the team with the most points. 2002 saw the first “joint” Inter Services where both the Mens and Ladies teams competed on the same course; Celtic Manor, at the same time.
Since 2015 the Championships also now includes an Individual Strokeplay Championship which is played over 18 holes on the opening Sunday afternoon.
