Four fantastic days of outstanding golf at Saunton GC have come to a close, with this year’s Men’s and Women’s Matchplay Championships delivering plenty of memorable moments and superb competition.
Men’s Championship
58 players battled through Sunday’s qualifier to join 35 seeded players in Monday’s main event. Over as many as 108 gruelling holes for some players, we found our new champions:
Matchplay Champion: SSgt Matt Bruce-Smith AGC(SPS)
Plate Winner: Fus Harrison Benn Inf
Reserve Champion: Sgt Aidi Bennett R Sigs
Women’s Championship
The women teed off on Tuesday, battling through up to 72 holes to compete for their titles.
Matchplay Champion: Cpl Niki Sutton AGC(SPS) (for the 5th time!)
Plate Winner: Maj Megan Owen AGS(SPS)
Stableford Winner: ATpr Laura McLean AAC
