From Tue 10 to Thu 12 Jun, Catterick GC played host as 18 teams battled it out for golfing glory. After a cheeky practice round on Tue to find the fairways (and a few bunkers), it was down to business with a 36-hole Stableford event on Wed.
The top 4 teams went through to the Main Matchplay on Thu, the next 4 into the Plate, and the rest enjoyed a 27-hole Stableford for pride, honour, and a cracking day on the course.
Inter Unit Champions: 3 PWRR (A) – WO2 Netra Rai, Sgt Raju Tamang & Sgt Aash Gurung. Will it be a hat trick next year? Odds on.
Plate Winners: ATC Pirbright – WO2 Khagendra Gurung, WO2 Krishna Yonghang & CSgt Bikas Rai.
Stableford Winners: HQ 1UKXX – WO1 Mike Arnell, SSgt Matt Chadwick & Sgt Sam Lowe.
Weather was remarkably decent for June in Catterick. Not a single waterproof sighting.
