The 2025 Army Inter Regional Championship was held at Worksop Golf Club on Wed 3 Sep. The course was in excellent condition despite the recent hot weather, with immaculate greens that drew praise from all competitors.
Ten teams of six competed, with the Eastern Region fielding two sides. After a practice day that included the annual AGA Committee vs Worksop GC fixture (won convincingly 5–0 by the hosts), the championship proper began with a morning greensomes competition. Northern Ireland’s LCpl Clare and Capt Docherty led the way with 43 points, with strong performances also from WO2 Delamar & Mr Field (North West) and Johnson & WO2 Seely (North West). At the close of the session, Northern Ireland and Eastern 2 were tied on 109 points, just ahead of North West (106), South East (104) and Scotland (103).
The afternoon singles were played in testing conditions as heavy showers returned, keeping scores lower than in recent years. With the lowest score dropped from each team’s total, the final standings remained in the balance until the last cards were returned.

3rd – Mr Paul Spencer – 35pts
