Late Friday afternoon, we witnessed the final battle between RE (A) and RA to determine this year’s Inter Corps Champions. After 4.5 hours, both teams ended up with 2½ points each, necessitating a playoff.
The nominated playoff players were WO2 Kerry Roberts RA and Cpl Ross Greenwood RE. In the end, it was Kerry who won the first playoff hole and secured this year’s victory for the Royal Artillery.
The Plate winners are last year’s champions, Royal Signals (A).
And the Stableford winners are last year’s Plate winners, Intelligence Corps.
Friday’s matches were particularly tough due to the fatigue of most of our players, some of whom have already played 180 holes this week, competing in both the Matchplay and the Inter Corps Championships!
Huge congratulations to all the winners! And many thanks to everyone who travelled to Saunton Golf Club from far and wide. It’s always great to see players return year after year, as well as to welcome fresh faces to the course.
