Cessation of representative sport

We continue to live in interesting times! The current situation remains ‘uncertain, unsettling and unpredictable’ – many Service Personnel are supporting the national effort to defeat the virus and at least now we have some good news about the availability of vaccines. For now, the national Tier system has come into effect and we all hope that will work to constrain the contamination. As you know, Army representative sport is suspended and it will be up to the Army to decide when we can resume. The Army Briefing Note has formally extend the current suspension of all Army representative sport until 11 January and with a review (to consider a lift of restrictions or further suspension to be put in place) between HQ ASCB and Army HQ in the first week of our return to work from 4 Jan 21. Clearly, any decision will consider the in-place national and regional restrictions and will also be informed by the shape and size of any future military commitment to the national effort. We hope to have some clarity over the Army’s support to the national vaccination programme, all of which is still in the planning stage.

For now, AGA competitions and events are off the menu at least until 11 Jan 21.

From all at the AGA, we thank you all for your hard work and effort in salvaging so many events throughout the summer and autumn and we look forward to a better 2021 season. We wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all in the New Year!
